ANZAC DAY, 25th April 2024

Come along and commemorate Anzac Day with us from 9am – 2pm FREE ENTRY at the Samford Museum. All displays will be open and a special place to visit is the War Memories, formerly Grovely Railway Station and The Charge of the Beersheba mount.

A feature display will be honouring the military service of local women during all wars. An Anzac themed treasure hunt will be for all to join in. Our blacksmith will assist young people to create a poppy in the blacksmith shop using copper (cold work) for a fee. Recall ‘knitting for the soldiers’ with the lady in the slab kitchen as she knits or crochets. Books recounting experiences of wartime by locals can be researched along with WW1, WW2 and family history research assistance.

A variety of refreshments will be on sale along with the ever popular just cooked damper served with syrup and billy tea.

Samford Museum publications will be on sale. Enquiries- info@samfordmuseum.com.au ; 07 32892743 or through Samford Museum facebook
