The participants demonstrating timber tools used by pioneers in their daily lives all have strong links to the Moreton Bay Regional Council area and to the timber industry.

Tree felling was dangerous and the knowledge and skills required are shown herein. Tools and the skills to use them were passed down from generation to generation.

Each tool is described in detail, demonstrated and purpose of end product is given eg squaring of a log into a railway sleeper using a squaring axe.

Power tools and modern equipment replace the crosscut saw, barking bar, froe, adze, mortice, broad axe and more.

A poem written by a participant captures the working days of his early life.
